About The Franchise Doctor

Jim Deitz, President

The Franchise Doctor is a service offered by Andover Franchising, Inc, an Atlanta, Georgia consulting firm. We believe that the better informed a buyer is, the greater the probability he or she will choose the right franchise for his or her needs. Our exclusive FranchiseFit Entrepreneurial Surveys and our book, Insiders' Secrets to Buying a Franchise help people find a franchised business that makes good use of their talents and skills. If you would like to have a speaker for your group, please give us a call.

Andover Franchising also develops franchising programs for companies with a proven record of success. We begin with a feasibility study, develop fee and royalty structures, assist in developing the Franchise Disclosure Document (formerly the Franchise Offering Circular) and License Agreement, write training manuals and train you and your staff to sell franchises. Our clients report that we offer more thorough services at more competitive prices than others in the field.

Jim Deitz is the President and founder of The Franchise Doctor. His entire work history has been closely involved with entrepreneurship.

Jim is a member of the Board of Directors of the Southeast Franchise Forum, and speaks regularly at the University of Georgia, Kennesaw State University, Georgia State, Georgia Association of Business Brokers, the International Business Brokers' Association, and the Southeast Franchise Forum.

Jim has been praised by his clients and peers for working tirelessly to ensure that buyers and sellers understand the benefits and risks of the franchise relationship and base their decisions accordingly. In 1999, he helped develop the FranchiseFit Entrepreneurial Survey to assist buyers in discovering their innate behavioral traits and learning how these predict success. Jim then helps prospect match their profile with different franchise offerings to ensure that they achieve their true potential--operating a business that they love. The Franchise Doctor's website (http://www.franchisedoc.com) has received recognition for its educational content, monthly newsletters, franchise reviews and franchise system recommendations.

In '81, Jim began his indoctrination into franchising when he joined a franchised business brokerage office selling small businesses. After a short time, Jim was named Regional Manager for the franchisor and traveled the Southeast training agents in 50 independently owned franchises. In 1987, he co-founded The Andover Group, a franchisor of business brokerage offices in Atlanta.

In the late '60's, he wrote credit reports on small and medium-sized companies for Dun & Bradstreet in New York City and Atlanta. Then for several years he was a bank administrator and loan officer issuing commercial, SBA and personal loans for a bank in Birmingham. During the '70's Jim owned several small businesses in advertising and marketing before selling them.
